On the evening of Sept 8th 2012 Willow's water broke, we new we were in for a long night. At 10:30pm Willow's first born arrived, he was a large baby at 461g!! Wow, good girl Willow.
It wasn't for 2 hours later that babies 2 & 3 were born, chunky man number 2 was holding up proceedings, as soon as he arrived our first girl came extremely soon after, so soon in-fact that we didn't even see Willow push her out, we were still getting puppy number 2 out of his sack! You sure know how to keep us on our toes Will.
The next two babies born, again, 2 hours later, came out in a similar fashion, although we atleast had 5 mins between these two puppies!! Another 2 boys. We were beginning to think that we were only going to have the one girl, she'd keep the boys in line anyway!
Another 2 hours later, puppy number 6 arrived, and yes, you guessed it, another boy! At this stage we thought we were all done, Willow was settling down, didn't seem to be having anymore contractions....
At 8:30am, approx 2 hours after the last baby was born, Willow surprised us with a contraction. Placenta? Nope, one more contraction and out came the last born.... another girl!!!
We finished up with 7 babies, 5 boys and 2 girls. At this stage I believe that we have atleast 3 and more likely 4 longhair boys, 1 shorthair boy, and I believe both girls are shorthairs, but my fingers are remaining crossed for one of them to be a longhair. We should know within the next few days for sure. The main thing is that all babies are healthy and thriving :)
Willow is being an excellent mother to her tribe of children, I am just so proud of my girl, she's taken to motherhood like a duck to water, maternal instincts are truly an amazing thing!
